Employer Incentives helps employers in New Jersey take advantage of substantial New Jersey tax credits in addition to federal tax incentives. New Jersey tax credit and wage subsidy programs include:
New Jersey's On the Job ("OJT") Salary Reimbursement
New Jersey will pay up to 50% of an employee's salary for 6 months to help fund an employee's training program. The training program must be approved in advance to qualify for this wage subsidy. Positions must be full time, permanent, and paid at least $8.50 per hour or minimum wage, whichever is higher. The program is funded by the State of New Jersey.
New Jersey's WorkPAYS2 Program
The WorkPAYS2 program is designed to get TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) recipients into the workforce. The program reimburses employers 100% of a new employee's wages for the first three months of employment and 50% of a new employee's wages for an additional three months to offset the costs of hiring a new employee. The total contract period can be for six months.
At the completion of the WorkPAYS2 program, you may also be eligible for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit Program.
